K-16 Collaborative Sub-Awardee Updates

  • Dr. Green provided an update on the Avenue M program at UC Davis, which has recruited 96 students and is focused on the northern region.
  • Nicole shared updates on the curricular pathways to health at College of the Redwoods, which include certified nursing assistant, medical assistant, and pharmacy technician programs.
    • Carmen also mentioned the hiring of a transfer advisor to smooth out processes as they switch to Cal-GETC.
    • The conversation ended with a discussion on the importance of transparency with students about the transferability of their units when applying to universities.
  • Mendocino College Dual Enrollment Updates
    • Debra provided updates on Mendocino College's dual enrollment programs, including summer programs, ambassador programs, and efforts to improve coordination between dual enrollment teachers and the college.

  • Matt Russell, the new director at Lake County Office of Education
    • efforts to align career technical education pathways across districts, an upcoming healthcare education innovation center, and plans for concurrent enrollment math courses and a high school CNA cohort.

  • Financial overview of the project, highlighting that they are 60% through the project and have spent 26% of the funds

  • Encouraged the team to reach out with ideas for direct student services and offered support in implementing them.
